Collaboration
Von Arkel have developed a proprietary hinge system that require no screws or no glue. Their value proposition, inspired by watchmaking technology and micro-mechanics, has garnered the attention of the eyewear industry. Their different optical and sunglasses models needed a revamp to adapt to the market and they approached us for 3D design development of frames.
Direction
After successfully delivering a good number of frame designs, we naturally offered to update their brand communication as well. Starting with the website - which was too commercial - we infused the brand with a storytelling perspective, focused on Swiss heritage, precise craftsmanship and know-how, to elevate their message across their channels, all the way to their customers. From approachable yet distinctive photography and Swiss inspired grid-based print documents, we tied their universe together to communicate their position in the industry, both high-end, yet humble and passionate.
